Private Academic Kindergarten Program | Macomb County
In Montessori, kindergarten is a crucial time for children as they combine their knowledge and curiosity through hands-on experiences. This stage allows children to deepen their understanding by linking abstract ideas to real-world situations. With the support of dedicated educators in a nurturing environment, each child embarks on a personalized educational path, developing their skills and interests while forming meaningful social connections.
Many of our kindergarteners come to us directly from our preschool program, building seamlessly on the foundation they developed in our primary classroom.
A Focus on Early Reading & Math
Our kindergarten is a full-day academic program. Unlike traditional daycare, our students spend their morning in a primary classroom (preschoolers and kindergarteners) with children ages 3 through 6, where they receive individualized lessons in core curriculum areas and benefit from the richness of a multi-age environment.
Reading and math are central to the kindergarten experience. Using hands-on Montessori materials – from Sandpaper Letters and the Moveable Alphabet to Golden Beads and the Bead Frame – our students build genuine literacy and numeracy skills through discovery, not memorization. By the time children leave our kindergarten program, they don’t just know how to read and compute; they understand why it works, which builds lasting confidence.
In the afternoon, the children join together in the extended day classroom to work with peers and practice independent thinking. This session draws on the full Montessori curriculum: art exploration, science experimentation, cooking, nutrition, study of the human body, cultural studies, advanced practical life activities, sensorial extensions, field trips, and much more.
Families from Mount Clemens, Harrison Township, Clinton Township, and the surrounding Macomb County area choose our kindergarten program for its proven academic foundation and nurturing Montessori environment.
