Montessori Stepping Stones Kindergarten Program | Macomb County

In the Montessori approach, kindergarten is a crucial time for children as they combine their knowledge and curiosity through hands-on experiences. This stage allows children to deepen their understanding by linking abstract ideas to real-world situations. With the support of dedicated educators in a nurturing environment, each child embarks on a personalized educational path, developing their skills and interests while forming meaningful social connections.

Kindergarten is a full day program.  Children attending kindergarten spend their morning in a primary classroom, ages 3-6, where they receive their lessons in the core curriculum areas and benefit from the multi-age classroom. In the afternoon, the children,  join together in the extended day classroom.

During this afternoon session the children have time to work with their peers and practice their independent thinking and learning skills. This program is based on the core Montessori curriculum, including: art exploration, science experimentation, cooking, nutrition, study of the human body, a more in-depth study of cultures, advanced practical life activities, sensorial extensions, field trips, and much more.

In our Spanish program, students learn vocabulary and conversational skills naturally, just as they do with their native language.
