Nurturing Lifelong Learners
Elementary Education
Our elementary program is divided into two multi-age classrooms; lower elementary (ages 6-9) and upper elementary (ages 9-12). While in these classrooms, the students continue to have an individually paced curriculum. The academic curriculum is challenging and encourages the students to think critically and take responsibility for their own learning. These are skills that they will continue to use throughout their lives. The students continue to work with their hands in the manipulation of materials in order to “see” in a concrete fashion the foundations of what they are learning.
Our Montessori Philosophy
Montessori education is centered around the belief that children learn best when they are actively engaged in their learning process. Our approach emphasizes hands-on learning, self-directed activity, and collaborative work. At Montessori Stepping Stones, we cultivate an environment where elementary students can explore their interests, develop critical thinking skills, and become independent learners. Our mission is to empower each child to reach their full potential by nurturing their natural curiosity and fostering a lifelong love for learning.

What Parents and Students Say
Teachers would invite children and their classmates to join them at their table to learn a new lesson. The atmosphere was a symphony of learning and happiness; children working together in small groups, giving their own input on what should happen and what they want. Everything was colorful. Even school “pets” would be there; birds, frogs, mice, and even fish. It was a free school.
– Alumni of MSS. Currently in high school.
My two daughters have been attending MSS for five years. They have absolutely thrived in this nurturing, caring, and safe environment. My oldest daughter struggled with anxiety and extreme shyness; however, she is now bold and confident. Allowing the children the freedom to choose what they want to learn allows them to become whom they are truly meant to be. They also do not have to endure the unnecessary stress of standardized testing and constant assessments. The owner is a wonderful person who is a true Montessorian; school is a labor of love.
