The Elementary Journey: Where Curiosity Takes Flight

From “What” to “Why”

During the elementary years, a child’s world expands from asking “what” to exploring “why.” Our program, divided into lower (ages 6-9) and upper (ages 9-12) multi-age classrooms, is designed to ignite this intellectual leap. Here, students move from concrete to more abstract thinking, using hands-on materials to truly understand the foundations of math, language, and science.

Mastery and Confidence at Their Own Pace

With an individually paced curriculum, each child builds confidence by mastering concepts at their own pace, developing into a critical thinker who takes joyful responsibility for their own learning – a skill that will serve them for life.  This same journey from concrete to abstract is mirrored in our elementary Spanish program. Students move beyond passive absorption to the active study of the language, working in daily small groups to master complex vocabulary and conversational skills.

Our Montessori Philosophy

Montessori education is centered around the belief that children learn best when they are actively engaged in their learning process. Our approach emphasizes hands-on learning, self-directed activity, and collaborative work. At Montessori Stepping Stones, we cultivate an environment where elementary students can explore their interests, develop critical thinking skills, and become independent learners. Our mission is to empower each child to reach their full potential by nurturing their natural curiosity and fostering a lifelong love for learning.
