Mark Your Calendar: 2026-2027 Important Dates
The new school year kicks off with New Parent Orientation on September 3rd and our Open House on September 4th, followed by the First Day of School on September 8th. Save the date for our “Montessori 101” Parent Education Nights this fall, plus our George Park meet-up on September 19th – see the full schedule below, including arrival and dismissal times by classroom.
What to Bring on the First Day
From school supplies to lunches to the right pair of shoes, a little preparation goes a long way on day one. Below you’ll find our full packing list by category – supplies, lunches, water bottles, shoes, and clothing – along with an overview of this fall’s curriculum for every classroom level, from Infant/Toddler through Middle School.
Program Hours & Our Sick Policy
Our Sunrise and Sunset before- and after-school program runs 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, with Primary students meeting in the Daisy Room and Elementary/Middle students at Next Step.
We’ve also outlined our medication and fever policies below, including when a child needs to stay home, so you know exactly what to expect.
How We Communicate With Families
We use the Remind app for all parent-teacher communication, and conferences are available anytime beyond our scheduled February window. You’ll find details below on reporting absences, scheduling a classroom observation, picture ID requirements, and our naptime guidelines to keep classrooms peaceful between 12:00 and 3:00 pm.
What Is Montessori Education?
New to Montessori, or just want a refresher? This approach centers on child-led learning, hands-on materials, and a prepared environment where children build independence at their own pace. Take a look at the six principles that guide every classroom at Montessori Stepping Stones.
