Middle School Program

Overview

Our middle school includes a rigorous academic preparation with thoughtful and purposeful work which prepares the students to become confident adults. During the adolescence developmental stage, their brains are changing as much as they did during infancy! These physical and emotional changes bring along a new sense of self awareness and autonomy with a tremendous reliance on their friends. They are beginning to find who they are in society and how they can contribute.

This school is beyond amazing. I literally do not know where to start with the love I have for this institution and the staff. This place is more than a school, it’s like a second home for my children and an amazing support system for me. Both of my children attend Montessori. I have a primary student (6 years old) and a middle schooler known as an adolescent student (12 years old). I am truly amazed at the level of education my child has accomplished while attending, including the mental and emotional teachings here. I have seen such growth in both of my children. Sometimes it amazes the conversations we have! It’s all thanks to the staff. You will not be disappointed by sending your child here!

Curriculum:

Adolescents need a balance of physical, emotional, intellectual, and social learning. This includes lots of outside time, calm surroundings, time in nature, and daily reflection.  As a result, they can build self-confidence, learn justice and personal dignity, become adaptable and independent, and be valued as practical members of society.

Intellectual opportunities include Math (pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry), project-based learning, English language arts, studying civilization and history, music, art, and special interest studies. Socially, adolescents should be given individual initiative with guidance, and rules are necessary.

Spanish

Daily small group lessons with a native speaking Montessorian teacher.

Special Trips

Overnight four-day annual Fall camping trip, Sailing trips every other year, and numerous other field studies throughout the school year.
